Welcome to Gilbert Visual Artists' League

The goal of the Gilbert Visual Artists' League is to create a venue for local artists to show their work and become recognized for their talents and skills. It is the wish of the League to increase artistic awareness and appreciation in our community as well as the surrounding areas.

GILBERT VISUAL ART LEAGUE NOVEMBER 2008 SHOW begins in less than 3 weeks!!!

A quick note to thank our forty exhibiting artists for their hard work and participation, bringing in nearly 100 entries! Thanks as well to ALL the many sponsors including the Town of Gilbert and The Gilbert Historical Museum.

Opening day is Saturday, November 8 at 9:00 am and show runs though Saturday, November 22, 2008 @ 4:00 pm. Venue is Gilbert Historical Museum, http://www.gilbertmuseum.com/

GHM is located at 10 S. Gilbert Rd. on the SW corner of Gilbert and Elliot Roads in the heart of the Heritage District. The museum is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, $3 for children 5-12, and under 5 is free.

Awards will be presented at the show reception @ 2:00 pm (invitation required) on November 16, 2008. Ribbons are awarded to the top three works in each category. In addition, a cash prize is given to Best of Show and Peoples Choice winners. Renowned painter, John Cox, will judge the show. Cox has more than thirty years fine-art experience and has hosted many solo and two-man shows.

This show will be going on at the same time as Gilbert Days so, make plans to stop by the Historical Museum and enjoy the artistic talent of Gilbert!

GVAL Monthly Newsletter

Gilbert Visual Art League provides local artists with opportunities to exhibit their work in the community, to form associations with other artists, and to practice and improve their art skills. The organization strives to benefit both the artists and the community by promoting workshops, classes, and exhibits as well as coordinating volunteer opportuntities to foster arts and art appreciation in Gilbert.

GVAL Membership

As a member of the Gilbert Visual Artists' League, your enrollment fee will be used to support fine arts in the community. Enrollment entitles you to participate in the monthly meetings of GVAL, where you will associate with other artists and participate in activities designed to develop your art skills. It also entitles you to enter your work in the community art shows sponsored by GVAL at discounted entry fees and discounted ticket prices.
